I have just learned of some more Masses in the Traditional Roman Rite planed for the beautiful church of Our Lady and St Wilfrid, Warwick Bridge.
Most exciting is a Mass on Saturday 31st May. That is the feast day of St Petronilla, an early Roman Martyr, whose relics are under the altar at the Church.
For that reason, there will be a High Mass, sung in the presence of our Bishop, +Michael Campbell. The Ordinary will be Victoria's Missa O Quam Gloriosum Est (with the motet of that name sung at the Communion). The proper will be sung as plainchant.
The bishop will be arriving at 9.45 (greeted by a polyphonic Ecce sacerdos) and the Mass will start at 10.00. It promises to be a magnificent occasion, so if you are in the North West, (or even North East or Scottish borders) put the date in your diary.
There are also Sunday Masses planned for 25th May at 6pm and 29th June (SS Peter and Paul) at 6pm. These will probably be Missae Cantatae, with chant throughout.
The Church, as I have mentioned before (with a picture), is a real gem, and perfectly suited to the Traditional Mass, having been designed by Pugin, and kept intact (including Rood Screen, etc).
Evilness - My goodness! How can they do such things? God made piggies to have little feet... trotters if you will. He did not make them to wear sling-backs or brogu...
